Frequently Asked Questions
Who is considered a "Young Adult"?
You can be a college student, graduate, graduate student, young
professional, single or married - simply put, anyone 17-35 years
old - is invited to any and all our ministry opportunities.
If I am not a college student, can I get involved?
Yes! Our ministry is not limited to Oakland University. A major
portion of our ministry programming is geared towards area young
professionals who have already graduated with a college degree -
that is why we call it Campus AND Young Adult Ministry. We have
a very diverse ministry team of young professionals and college
students. Our Newman Group (all college students) is an integral
part of our Fusion Young Adult Ministry Team. All are welcome!

Campus ministry is all about the student. Campus ministry is a dynamic,
exciting and fun way to get involved at Oakland University. Your
involvement can include retreats, liturgy and prayer, service, outreach,
and social outings. Campus Ministry is a place to have fun and form
lasting friendships.
What does campus ministry do?
Campus ministry is involved with a wide variety of activities and
events, as you can tell from our website. But do not be disappointed
if you don't see something that interests you. Many of the activities
sponsored by campus ministry were started by a student who had a
new idea and wanted to make a difference.
Who are the campus ministers?
Oakland University's Catholic Campus Minister is Lisa Brown, though
the entire St. John Fisher pastoral staff and community are dedicated
to providing ministry for the Oakland University community. We also
have two wonderful, dedicated Campus Ministry Student Coordinators,
Tara Finn & Carla DelVecchio who provide very able and spirited
leadership. We all can be reached at 248-370-2189 or by email. See
Contact Us page on website.

and become a leader in campus ministry. All are welcome!
Where do I go to find a church, synagogue, mosque, house of
worship, or meeting place that is consistent with my religious beliefs?
While you are always welcome to worship with the St. John Fisher
community, campus ministry would be glad to help you find a place
of worship consistent with your tradition. Call, email or stop in
the campus ministry office, and we will be glad to help.
